The 1st FC Kaiserslautern has in the 3rd league the fifth victory in a row and thus missing the jump on the rise relegation platform, the MSV Duisburg braked under the new coach Hagen Schmidt for the time being his descent.
The Pfälzer did not come over a 1: 1 (1: 0) in the duel of the Bundesliga founding members and remain seven in the Zebras. Duisburg prevented the fourth defeat in a row, but continues to be in the descent zone.
Schmidt, last coach of the U17 of the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach, had taken the successor of the dismissed Pavel Dotchev a week ago.
Boris Tomiak (44.) scored the lead for the guests just before the half-time break. After the side change, the MSV urged the compensation - and was rewarded by an own goal of Mike Wunderlich (82nd).
In the final phase, the Lauterer Felix Götze evidently suffered a head injury after a collision with the Duisburg Rolf Fortscher and had to be brought with the wearer.
